What I got for Christmas 2016

Hey guys!!

I hope everyone has had a fantastic Christmas holidays.
I had a lovely time, and cannot wait to repeat it at home with my family next week. 🙂

I have truly been spoilt this year and thought I’ll show you guys all the goodies Santa brought me.
I REALLY enjoy reading similar posts and I am not bragging whatsoever, I just wanted to show you what I received.

As you may know from the Blogmas posts, that I have spent my Christmas with my lovely boyfriend and his family this year. I will be going home to see my family to celebrate with them too.

Lush products:
I got SOOO many fizzies this year. I love Lush, and I’m so grateful to my friends and J for getting me some new bath bombs and bubble bars. All I need now is some free time where I can get a long relaxing bath.

Urban decay-All nighter spray- If you have read my Christmas wishlist, you know that I have been wanting this for so long! I have tried it a few times in the past week and it makes such a massive difference. I love it already and I will definitely repurchase once empty.

Illustrated Harry Potter book- OMG I am so happy that J got me this! He kindly got my the first one last year, and he has kept with the traditions. It is a beautiful book and as I’ve said before I am excited to read it to the kids in the future 🙂

Harry Potter colouring book- Now I have one of these already, in a different style. I LOVE it and it’s so good for de-stressing. I love that colouring books have come back into play for adults in the past few years.

Tarte cosmetics- Graveyardgirl Swamp Queen palette- Need I say more? I nearly cried when I opened this. I have been watching Bunny for years, and when she came out with this palette I was super excited. I never actually got the chance to purchase it myself as it was ALWAYS out of order. J has really surprised me with this and I absolutely love it. I will be doing a review on it shortly with a tutorial. It’s the most pigmented palette I own. LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

House of crafts- candle making kit- I think this is a subtle hint from J. I buy WAY too many candles during the year and I think he wants me to start making my own instead of spending £££’s on Yankee candles. I have been wanting to make my own candles and other crafty bits for years, so I am looking forward to playing with this goodie.

Bare Minerals- Glow kit- I got this from J’s mum, and I absolutely love it. Bare minerals is the BEST. There is a plumping lip gloss, highlighter, blusher, concealer and a makeup bag in this kit. I know I will use this a lot this year, and it will last for ages. All of my bare minerals products last me for months and are really good for my skin. I never have breakouts when I use these products which is a bonus, as I am prone to breakout on and around my chin from quite a few products.

Clothes- I’ve got the two band t-shirts from J’s sister. I was really excited to see she got me a Motley one, as I didn’t get the chance to pick one up when we went to see them. I wore this already and its super comfy and looks great with just some leggings and boots. She also got me a Black Sabbath one. YAY I am so excited to see them in a few weeks!!

J’s lovely grandparents got me this beautiful grey jumper. It has sequin circles all over it and it is the softest material ever. I love this, as I don’t own any quality jumpers. I love it a lot and I am very thankful that they have gotten me a gift.

I received so many other gifts from J’s father as well. We got a little bonsai tree, candles, chocolate and cooking books. They also got me a colour changing umbrella. It is the best idea ever, and I am looking forward to our next rainy walk. Easily done in the UK 🙂

I am very grateful for all of my gifts and had a fantastic Christmas.

Bring on this year, and I cannot wait to see what 2017 has to bring for FilsJourney.

Happy New Year guys

Blogmas 2016- Christmas stocking fillers for HIM

Hey guys!

I do apologise for being a bit quiet in the past few days.

If you follow me on Instagram, you will know that I had my Christmas works do at the weekend. It was such a great few days, but we had to go back to work on Monday and I was absolutely exhausted these past few days. I wanted to make sure that my posts stay enjoyable for you guys and due to the activities and daily routine we had, I was unable to write something that I would have enjoyed reading myself. I also wrote a few posts from home, edited them in the hotel and then when I logged in at home again they were all gone. GRRR

BUT I am back to Blogmas and I am excited to be writing this for you guys. I really do like buying gifts, and since I have J in my life, I did spend a lot of the past few weeks searching for stocking fillers. These few are the ones I think will be great gifts for your male friends and loved ones.

1.Aftershave- Who doesn’t like smelling nice right? All men love aftershave just as much as we ladies love perfumes. There are SO many fragrances out there these days. Diesel, Calvin Klein, Paco Rabbane, Hugo Boss, Dior, Jean Paul Gaultier ones are my favourite. It is relly easy for me to pick a fragrance for a guy as its easier for me to pick what I like amongst male fragrances. Not the case in ladies, but that’s a whole other post haha

2.Beard oil kit- Beards are such a massive craze these days aren’t they? A well groomed, cleaned and oiled beard is so attractive for me! I love all the beard oils that J has, and I am sure if you know someone that has a beard, they will love a starter kit or a more professional grooming balm etc. I quite like to shop online for these, as there are way more varieties than in the shops.

3.Scarves- Now this goes with the above, beard kit I think. IF the guy you are buying a gift for, DOESN’T have a beard I recommend getting them a scarf. Now a scarf can be the main present if you go designer, but also act as a stocking filler if you get one from a high street. If you are buying for you BF this is a great idea, as they cannot complain at you for being cold when you drag them shopping or the Christmas markets. WINWIN

4.Personalised mugs or keyrings- I think if you get someone a personalised present, it shows them that you have put in a lot of work and thought. All dads love a good mug and you can’t go wrong by getting them something with a family photo, favourite car or favourite football team on it. It’s the same with a keyring, as I think it is a lovely touch especially if your family expanded in 2016.

5.Books- Now not everyone likes to read, so make sure that the person you are getting a book for does. J wouldn’t particularly enjoy reading romantic novels, but you all know he is a chef so a cookbook is a great stocking filler for him. Autobiographies are another great idea as you can find one on most celebrities, footballers, historians etc. I love a good autobiography me. A lovely note on the first page or even an autograph from the author would be an awesome gift for anyone.

6. Alcohol- I live in the UK. Need I say more? Everyone loves the freedom of ‘spirits’ during Christmas. Ha! There are so many little boozy gift packages that you could buy someone. I think these are ideal for secret Santa presents, as long as you make sure not to get Bailey’s for the person that’s lactose intolerant. I’ve so so many gift boxes in SAinsbury’s recently. They are extremely fairly priced as well. It’s a perfect gift for someone you cannot but anything too personal for.

These are a few of the ideas that I have come across in my search for J’s stocking fillers. I also like the idea of a photo album, pocket drinking games or other silly novelty gifts. You can find tonnes of them on Asos or on Notonthehighstreet.

I hope you guys have enjoyed this post and I am back to the swing of things so I shall be back with a post tomorrow, the whole way through to Christmas.

Blogmas 2016- Christmas gifts for my puppy

Hey guys!

Happy Blogmas 🙂

You may already know that we have an adorable French Bulldog. His name is Archie, and you can read more about him here, and check out my Instagram for his silliness.

Today I will show you what this little-spoilt man is getting for Christmas from his awesome Mummy and Daddy !

We truly treat Archie like a child, which I believe is completely fine. Don’t get me wrong we make sure he eats correctly and does not get human food. He gets the best of the best when it comes to food, shampoo, treats and even accessories. We want him to be healthy and happy and I wouldn’t be complaining if I was him!

So this is our second Christmas owning a dog, and we have planned his presents in advance. He certainly does not understand the difference between the days but he will appreciate his new bits and bobs I am sure.

So this year ‘Santa’ has already got him a jumper, to keep his little bum warm as he is the type of dog that sits and looks at you when you let him out to the toilet. I literally have to carry him to the garden and wait there in the cold while he does his business. If I don’t, stubborn as Frenchies are he WILL NOT go to the toilet at all. I don’t want him to have issues so I am happy to do it. (most of the times). He doesn’t seem to mind wearing clothes, and it’s only once in a while he ever does anyway. He also got an advent calendar this year, which is going down a treat. 🙂

We also got him this shampoo from ScruffyChops. OMG! it is the best thing ever. It smells so lovely and I can’t wait to  bathe him in it so he smells like rhubarb and custard haha. On the plus side, it is all natural and vegan too. Great name too!

Our favourite treats to give him are the Pooch and Mutt as it is all natural and reduces his wind. If you are a Frenchie owner or have spent time around one, you KNOW how windy they are. Archie is like a little fart machine and boy they are like pockets of death. NO KIDDING! These are great and a perfect size for training your puppy too. We got him another few boxes.

The only things Archie seems to chew are beds so we will get him some new blankets to keep him warm. He gets himself all wrapped up at night and just sits there looking very happy.

Make sure to follow my blog in order to be updated every time I post something new.
