GLOSSYBOX REVIEW – August 2017

Hi guys!

It’s been a while since I have done a Glossybox review. I have continued the subscription and used and LOVED the products but never got around to reviewing them.

BUT (I can hear my old English teachers voice telling me off for starting a sentence with ‘but’.) I am back with the August review, and its a good one!

Glossybox August 2017

So lets see what we got this month:

Essence– live.laugh.celebrate palette: This is such a cute palette. All the products are individually packed and you place them in the palette yourself. It is the perfect travel accessory as Essence don’t only do eyeshadows, but you can get blushes and highlighters too. Glossybox have been great and sent us 2 eyeshadows, a blusher and a highlighter. I know this will be perfect for me to take in my gym bag, as I get ready in there and having to carry highlight palettes and eyeshadow palettes is a pain. The price is great too, as the palette is only £1.50 and so are the powders. Super affordable !

Modellauncher– Safari sun bronzer: Who doesn’t love a nice bronzed skin? You can just never have enough bronzers. I really like this formula as its super smooth and its not too dark either so will be good for all year around. I do wear darker tones at the moment but I know I will love this in the winter more so than the summer. I am also a fan of these mosaic style bronzers, as I find they just give your skin that glow instead of just being plain and matte. The price of this is just average, as it retails for £16.50. I have not wore it yet for a full day, but I am looking forward to trying it as the cheaper bronzers tend to just disappear off your face. Hopefully this is different and worth its price.

Rodial– Suede lips: Lip crayons are so in right now aren’t they? we received a plumping one last month which is my go to pretty much everyday now. I am excited to see another Rodial product actually, as we had a few of them before and I loved them. The mascara, I still use everyday for my bottom lashes. Back to the crayon though, it is such a lovely dark mauve shade-I am in love with it. I can tell this will be something I use daily. The formula is great too, its very soft and it just glides on so easily. It is full of Vitamin E which is perfect for summer as its really moisturising- Great after a long day in the sun. This retails for £22 which is quite high, however I think Rodial products are great and its worth it.

Batiste– 2 in 1 dry shampoo and conditioner: What can I say, another great product from batiste. I have been using their dry shampoo for absolute years, and I love all the new products they have been coming out with this year. The product is always great, the smell is amazing and it doesn’t leave white residue in your hair – great if you have any other hair colour other than blonde. (on blonde hair you can’t really see anyways) The price of this is average, and matched all the other products in the range, it is £4.49 in Boots.

and lastly, Valquer– Ice hair mask/total repair: Oh this is exactly what I need as my argan oil mask has ran out. My hair is in such a bad condition since I have bleached it again a few weeks ago. I cannot wait to try this, as it promises to hydrate and tame my hair- perfect as its bleached and burnt from my straighteners/curlers.

So as you can tell, I really loved the August box and cannot wait to see what goodies I will get in September 🙂 Does any of you get any subscription boxes? Leave a link below as I would love to see your reviews.

Glossybox review- January 2017

Hey guys,

Yay, it is my favourite time of the month, it’s Glossybox time!!
Since it’s the first book of the year, of course it is going to be a special edition. This month glossy box have collaborated with the one and only ‘Deliciously Stella’. Click the link and head over to her Instagram, she’s super funny.

glossybox-january-2017

Let’s what we got this month

Nip Fab- Kale fix moisturiser– This is a superfood salad for your face. It contains kale, watercress, almond oil, aloe vera and shea butter. It promises to help moisturise, protect, sooth and smooth your skin. It sounds like the perfect product for me. The moisturiser has a lovely consistency, but it is not too heavy on your skin. The smell is a little odd, but I do like it. It smells similar to them old school cucumber peeler masks my mum used to use. This retails for around £15, which is a bit pricey for a moisturiser, but if it is like the other NipFab products, it is worth it.

Unani- Illuminate Milk Cleanser– I’m not going to lie, I have never heard of this brand before. To be fair this is why I love my glossybox subscription so much, as it introduces me to lots of lovely new brands. This product is like a makeup remover/moisturiser/cleanser all in one. Sounds perfect for the lazy days. This retails for $18 or around £14. That seems pretty reasonable for such a big bottle. Let’s hope it does what it says.

The balm- Meet Matt(e) Trimony Eyeshadow– So we had a sneak peek of this in last month’s box. I do love the sneak peek feature, as it gets me even more excited for the future boxes. So this is one shade from the balms palette of 9. I received shade ‘matt kumar’ which is a deep burgundy colour. I have swatched it on the back of my hand and it seems really pigmented, but would blend really well. I am looking forward to creating some great looks with this in the next few weeks. Keep your eyes peeled for some tutorials.  The palette costs about £38 which is rather expensive, so I expect this to be amazing!

True organic of Sweden- All you need is me– This is another ‘good for everything’ kinda product. It is completely chemical free, you can use it on your hair, body, face, lips etc. I have been using my aloe-vera gel for my breakouts but I will definitely try this too. Seems great, and retails for £20. That’s also reasonable price, and I’m impressed that we got the bigger 50ml product rather than the 15ml.

Lastly, another fantastic facemark by Vitamasques. If you have read my previous reviews, (if not just click on the above categories and then the Glossybox section) you will know that we have received vitamasques products before, and I LOVED them. It’s because of them that I love full face sheet masks, and I was in need of a new one this week. I can’t wait to try this one, full of Manuka honey goodness. Apparently it smells good enough to eat. This is priced £3.99 which is fantastic.

So as you can see, we received 4 full size products which is awesome! AAND a lovely little notebook too. Who doesn’t love them, especially this time of the year. I am so excited to try these out. I have recently been really good with my skincare routine and have been focusing on making sure that my skin is always cleansed and moisturised at night time therefore all of these will help me out. I think everyone starts the year with a new skincare routine, so this is the perfect box. Also after easing a lot of junk food over Christmas, I’ve had loads of breakouts so these will help me make my skin nice and perfect again.

What do you guys think of this months box?

Aliexpress- Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick Dupes

Hey guys!

I’m so excited to review these beauties today. I have been wanting a few of the Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks for such a long time, but at $18 each plus delivery I wasn’t able to get them. UNTIL I found some dupes on Aliexpress. This is the first time I have used Aliexpress but I guarantee it’s not the last.

I went a tad crazy, since the prices were really really low and picked 7 colours all together. (came to less than £10 with delivery- BARGAIN). Obviously, at first, I was rather sceptical and thought the products are going to be poor quality, however, I was pleasantly surprised. I really do love all 7 colours, some more than others and obviously, a few will only be suitable for fancy dress or gigs. Yes, the colours are not completely accurate and are not as great as Jeffrees, but I am impressed with them all, and the packaging looks quite original too.

Right let’s see the colours up close (don’t judge-not the best at applying lipstick, but I better bloody practice since these will last me forever)

The colours from top to bottom are celebrity skin (my favourite), abused, rose matter, dirty money, masochist, androgyny and finally anna nicole.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, let me know if you have any of the original Jeffree Star lippies.

Love, Fil x

Glossybox March 2016/2

Hi guys!

So this has taken me a while to write….

As you may know I have recently signed up to receive ‘Glossybox’ every month. It is basically a monthly beauty box subscription which costs me £10 but this way I can try new products out (5 new products to be exact) per month 🙂 Could not resist this could I?

So I have previously reviewed my starter park which you can read by clicking this link: Glossybox March starterpack

Right so the first box I received was just a starter pack to say welcome I suppose. A few days later I have received the actual March Glossybox box which I will review today. I have not used the products as I wanted to write the review first and I also wanted to wait to finish my current products before I try these.

Lets start at the packaging. It was the same as the last time, a lovely little simplistic pink box. Once opened I found the same cute packaging with a bow and wrapping paper. (I suppose it is the same every time) – I really like how simple it is and that I am not paying for fancy packaging, but rather I am paying for new little products which I would not have bought otherwise.

Products received:

  • Luxie – Rose gold large angled face brush 504 ( Luxie 504)
  • Olay – Regenerist skin tone perfecting cream (Olay)
  • Hey Honey – Good morning honey silk facial serum (Hey Honey)
  • -417 – Catharsis vitamin mineral shampoo (-417 shampoo)
  • -417 – Catharsis vitamin mineral shampoo (-417 conditioner)
  • So Susan – Light diffuser (So Susan)

I am very impressed with this box. Please note that apart from the Luxie brush and the So Susan highlighter combo, the products are smaller tester sizes. However if you check the links out above the Glossybox is well worth it even if these are testers, as everything is rather expensive.

I will be testing the shampoo and conditioner later today as I ran out my normal products. I have swatched the So Susan highlighter and bronzer due and I absolutely love it. This product is extremely pigmented which is great size I did think that its a little small if you are to spend £14 on it. it also smells amazing -coconut and cocoa- cannot go wrong with smelling like chocolate all day long can you?

Once again the other products I’ve yet to try but I have smelled and tested all on the back of my hand and so far so good. I don’t like trying and testing too many products on my skin at once just to reduce breakouts. I will slowly introduce them to my skin care routine though in the next week or two and I am sure I will like both the Hey Honey and the Olay products.

I am like a little girl at Xmas and very giddy to find out what I get in the April box 🙂

Until next time,

Love, Fil x
