So yeah this happened .. I’m not sure if it was the gorgeous breakfast I’ve made him or just my lovely smile but I managed to drag James to ikea over the weekend..
I absolutely LOVE Ikea .. I can spend hours and hours in there looking at basically everything. It’s a great place to find ideas for small flats where you don’t have a lot of space.
My search started on Pinterest. I really needed ideas for a makeup table that doesn’t just have little drawers. (Seriously what are those people thinking?? A mirror and two tiny tiny drawers ??! This face needs a lot of makeup therefore a lot of space .. ) so yeah Pinterest and tumblr are my friends when it comes to IKEA hacks .. This is where I found a picture where they basically got two set of drawers and a tabletop and voila it’s a dressing table.. I completely fell in love with it and had to have it 🙂 So 113 pounds later I’m a proud owner of a set of Alex drawers and a Linnmon tabletop 🙂 I’m one happy girl not gonna lie 😀
It is a little messy still but I absolutely love it 🙂 (Check out my beautiful mummy and daddy on their weddingday 30 years ago)
As I mentioned in the previous blog we had a party on Saturday night for Olivers 25th. It was good craic.
I had the chance to meet all of their school friends and everyone was lovely we all had a great time. We went to watch the dog races which was good (think the highest winnings were 3.75- we are good at gambling) . It was just funny and we just had a few drinks and some burgers while watching the dogs. This was then followed by a crazy (lets not get into the details) house party. Managed to come home fairly early around 4-5AM as I knew we had Valentines plans the next day.
So I surprisingly woke up okay and wasn’t hungover-SCORE!!!
We decided to go to the cinema like most couples this weekend, to watch Deadpool. It was hilarious I quite enjoyed it even though I didn’t think I would. Only downside was that we both thought the trailers have showed the most funny parts. HATE when they do that to movies… It was still very good though.
We didn’t make a massive fuss for Valentines… not one of ‘those’ couples. I love James the other 364 days of the year so if I was to celebrate the love and all I would be VERY VERY poor haha. 😀 We did get each other a card and I got a lovely rose and a Harry Potter characters book and sweeties and a Dobby pendant ( RIP DOBBY). He got a some Lush beard care stuff… it smells LOVELY!! I love Lush products. 🙂 Need to start getting into the habit of baths so I can buy bath bombs.. doesn’t have the same effect in the shower haha
So yeah overall it was a great weekend and was glad I got the chance to spend some time with James as due to his career it is not always easy to plan things. 🙂 ❤
I’m very excited about his birthday in April and hopefully my plans work out 🙂

Now I must go pick this man up from the train station otherwise I’ll be in ‘trouble’ 😛 Also need to do leg day. Mondays are fun eh?
Oh I do love me some pancakes once in a while… Oh boy and I do believe this pancake Tuesday we have come to the conclusion that Fil has found her forte haha I made some gorgeous pancakes.
We used a very simple recipe I found online. I think it was a Jamie Oliver one but I am not a 100% sure. Maybe all of them are simple but this one was:
1 cup of flour
1 cup of milk
pinch of salt.
And then all I did was mix these up and whisk it with just a normal hand whisk. You can use the electric ones but I didn’t and the pancakes were yummie.
These make more traditional american ‘breakfast’ style pancakes rather than my normal french thin crepes but honestly I started liking these more (for the past few days I made some everyday because they are so so simple).
You can do so many different toppings and flavours!! The ones I used were:
I made the big batch and the took portions of it into another bowl and mashed bananas in one, added coconut to another etc. I really enjoyed adding the coconut and chocolate chip to the batter then topping it with strawberries and cream. YUMMIE..
Honestly you can make ‘pancakes’ from anything. I’m going to substitute the flour with other things the next time we make some as I want to make them as healthy as possible. There are a few ideas I read about and just thought about, such as using mashed bananas as a base with an egg and some milk, using oats instead of flour, using a protein powder instead of the flour is something I may try as well for an ‘after workout’ meal. Also I have read that if you mix oats (simple porridge ones) with some Greek yoghurt and leave it in the fridge over night then add the egg in the morning and fry it, it also makes lovely breaksfast which sounds super yummie to me and filling. I love porridge for breakfast with cinnamon and apples so I will certainly try the oat pancakes.

I’m actually feeling much better in the past few days.
I have been ‘good’.. meaning I have kept to my healthy eating and working out plans.
Not going to lie the ‘sweat’ app which is the Kayla Itsines IOS app is absolutely AMAZING.. There are mixed comments and I understand what existing customers mean. I have the PDF of her guides already however the app is so much more helpful for me. I am terrible with the whole working out for 7 minutes thing and the timer really helps. It sounds completely silly since I can use my phone as a timer alone but I love the app and that’s that. The meals on there are great, the challenges are fun and getting a little trophy makes me happy. Am I loosing my mind??! Probably… 😀
Also since starting the app this week I have actually done more during the 28 minutes than ever before. I used to do the circuits twice (yeah I know… but have to start somewhere) which meant doing circuit 1, once during the 7 minutes then do circuit 2 once for 7 minutes and then once again for both. However this week I done circuit 1 twice in the 7 minutes and then once more the second round.. so done each of them 3 times.. ANYWAY stop rambling Fil… I’m proud of myself and that’s what matters. This journey is MY journey and I’m changing my lifestyle for myself but its nice to share my little goals 🙂
How’s everyone else getting on with the #kaylamovement? I should be on like week 6 but I had a few bumps and stuff on the way but I am now completely motivated. I even took the dog for an hour walk today after work.. How Friday nights change eh? 😀
I am very excited for the party we are going to tomorrow. It will be nice to get dressed and put make up on and not wear my work uniform.. ha.. I also FINALLY ordered the grey hair dye that has been out of stock in Superdrug for absolutely AGES.. But today it was finally in stock and I can pick it up in store tomorrow. HAPPY FIL..
PS: After reading the above I can conclude that I am certainly getting older and with age comes a boring life haha. never have I ever thought I will be excited for a fitness app trophy or hair dye haha.
I’ve been so lazy recently.. Literally have no energy to do anything . Even though I promised myself that this time around I will complete the #kaylamovement I cannot find the energy to work out . I have the motivation and the end goals but just cannot seem to find time . Sounds ridiculous since it is only 28 minutes per day ..
I have made plans that I am sticking to from next week.. Im also going to be documenting the whole journey online which hopefully gives me even more help and a regime to stick to. I really need the help of the #bbg community on here and IG to keep me going 🙂
I also finally have a proper date to work towards . It is less than 12 weeks away therefore I’m going to work out even harder and do an extra round each time and push myself. I WILL get over the fear of the gym and instead of just paying the monthly bill I WILL actually go to the gym for HIIT and LISS training. Or do them at home since I have bought a lot of fitness accessories and made space in the spare room for myself.
Can’t wait to get all these plans sorted and hopefully everything works out for me.
On a happier note I have ordered 50 pounds worth of hair products from boots.com so hopefully my hair gets back to a normal state .. Really bored of it being in such bad condition . Saying that I am bleaching it one more time this weekend . I will make a video maybe of the process .. Or a haul with all the things I got. There’s loads 🙂
